These 9 reasons can cause delays in periods

Most women complain that their periods do not come on time. Pregnancy is the most common reason for missed periods, but if you are not planning a pregnancy plan and still your periods get delayed then there can be many reasons (Late period reasons). Stress- Stress affects the body in many ways, including periods. Stress reduces the amount of hormone called GnRH, due to which there is no ovulation or periods. Keep yourself relaxed and contact your doctor to bring back the regular period cycle. Disease- Periods can also be delayed due to sudden fever, cold, cough or any prolonged illness. This happens temporarily and once you recover from the disease, your periods become regular again. Changes in routine - Changing schedules, working in night shifts, coming out of the city - or during a wedding or function in the house changes our routine. Periods also become regular when the body gets used to this new schedule or when we return to normal routine. Birth control pills - Birth control pills and some other medicines also change the period cycle. On taking such medicines, either the periods are reduced or come very quickly or they stop coming at all. In such a situation, contact the doctor. Pre Menopause - Before menopause, there are many changes internally in the body of women. Because of this, periods start coming late or ahead of time. Thyroid- The thyroid gland in the neck controls metabolism. It also plays a role in many functions of the body. If you have any thyroid related problem then it also affects the periods. If you have a thyroid problem, contact your doctor to get the periods on time.
