Fall River woman charged with arson in fire at property owned by embattled landlord

Police have arrested a Fall River woman and are looking for two other suspects connected to the Aug. 15 arson of a triple-decker at 66-68 Rocliffe St. Fall River Police Lt. Paul Bernier arrested Angelica Rivera-Matos, 45, of 764 Plymouth Ave., and charged her with causing the fire, police said. However, two other individuals were seen in the area just before the fire, and police have been unsuccessful in identifying them. Neighbors previously said they saw a man running from the building seconds before the basement fire broke around 6:40 a.m. on Aug. 15 in the building owned by embattled out-of-town landlord David Colville. The flames melted the wiring in the basement and displaced nine tenements, including the owners of a grocery store on the first floor. There were no reported injuries. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Lt. Bernier at 508-676-8511 or to call the anonymous TIPS line at 508-672-8477. Reward money has been made available for anyone providing information that leads to the arrest of a suspect in this case, police said.
