Woman alleges rape by gym trainer in Delhi

A 30-year-old woman was allegedly raped by her gym trainer after being drugged in South Delhi's Sarojni Nagar area, police said on Saturday. The trainer, Tarun, was arrested from his residence last evening after the victim registered a complaint against him at the Sarojni Nagar police station, they said. The victim, who runs a business, has alleged that she had joined the gym located in the NDMC area of Sarojni Nagar a few months ago. A few weeks ago, she came in contact with Tarun who used to train her. "The victim alleged that a couple of days ago, Tarun offered her soft drink laced with sedatives and then raped her after she fell unconscious. He then allegedly also threatened her of dire consequences, if she told anyone about the matter," said a police official. Scared, the victim could not speak about the incident to anyone initially. However, she later approached the police.
